We are currently increasingly focusing on police checks, because the city of Dresden has a huge problem.
On a daily basis, police officers patrol neighborhoods for on the search for criminals. These are not just any neighborhoods, but poor neighborhoods like Gorbitz or Prohlis and the so-called trendy neighborhood Neustadt.
Here, the police do not act as a protective force, but as a controlling force. The situation is different in rich, middle-class neighborhoods, where one looks in vain for mass controls and „dangerous places.“
The mechanism behind this is simple: action is taken against everyday criminals, small-time drug dealers, „abnormal“ people or people affected by racism in order to push them out of the public eye and to demonstrate the power to act. Most recently, young people in particular have been targeted by a special commission set up for this purpose.
The instrument for the preventive criminalization of entire neighborhoods are the „dangerous places“ where, according to everyday police thinking, crimes would be committed particularly frequently. 
With their actions, the police do not protect the people but the ruling system. Interest groups like the police union propagate authoritarian and reactionary values.
As a first step we have created a flyer about the legal situation in police checkpoints and we will do some events around this topic in the near future. Stay tuned!

Wir beschäftigen uns aktuell verstärkt mit Polizeikontrollen, denn die Stadt Dresden hat ein gewaltiges Problem. Tagtäglich werden Stadtviertel von Polizeibeamt*innen nach Straftäter*innen durchkämt. Es sind nicht irgendwelche Stadtviertel, sondern ärmere Viertel wie Gorbitz oder Prohlis und das sogenannte Szeneviertel Neustadt.
Die Polizei tritt hier nicht als Schutz-, sondern als Kontrollmacht auf. Anders verhält sich das in reichen, bürgerlichen Vierteln, wo man vergeblich nach massenhaften Kontrollen und »gefährlichen Orten« Ausschau hält.
Der Mechanismus dahinter ist einfach: gegen Alltagskriminalität, kleine Drogendealer*innen, »abnorme« oder von Rassismus betroffene Menschen wird vorgegangen um sie aus der Öffentlichkeit zu verdrängen und Handlungsmacht zu demonstrieren. Zuletzt standen besonders Jugendliche im Visier einer extra gegründeten Sonderkommission.
Als Instrument zur präventiven Kriminalisierung ganzer Stadtviertel dienen die »gefährlichen Orte«, an denen laut polizeilichem Alltagsverstand besonders häufig Straftaten begangen würden. Die Polizei schützt mit diesem Vorgehen nicht die Menschen sondern die herrschenden Verhältnisse. Interessengruppen wie die Gewerkschaft der Polizei propagieren autoritäre und reaktionäre Werte. 
Wir haben als ersten Schritt einen Flyer zur rechtlichen Situation in Polizeikontrollen erstellt und werden in nächster Zeit ein paar Veranstaltungen rund ums Thema machen. Stay tuned!
